Your scientifically proven Swag will certainly save you thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours over the years (yes, that’s right, it lasts YEARS - our founder, Peita has had hers for six!). If you’re noticing your fully compostable, non toxic Swag is starting to see its lasts days, we’ve gathered a few zero-waste solutions to reuse your Swag that won’t cost the Earth but actually feed it!
Dig a hole in the ground, put your 100% natural Swag in it, fill it in with some soil and plant your herbs and flower seedlings inside. The Swag will decompose in a few months, worms will be happy and your plant too! In winter, fill your Swag with soil, and leave the flap above the surface, this way, you can use the flap to cover and protect seedlings from frost.
- Cut and put in your compost (except for the care label)
Cotton is biodegradable and compostable, making it one of the most natural and eco-friendly fabrics on Earth. Next time you fill in your compost, add small pieces of your Swag into your compost. These are carbon-rich materials that will replace the coconut husk, sawdust, dead/brown shredded leaves etc. Everything that comes with your Swag, from the tag to the coconut fibre string and postal packaging are compostable. It’s all about giving back to mama Earth what’s hers.
If you’re the happy owner of a worm farm, you could put your old Swag to use. Worms like to feed on the surface but like shade and protection. Using your Swag as a blanket on top of your worm farm will keep the lombrics in the dark and prevent evaporation.
If you don’t want to use your Swag as a storage container in the fridge, you could still use it to store root veggies. In fact, a dry Swag will keep your potatoes, garlic, onion, turmeric, ginger fresh for longer when stored in the pantry.
A kid's imagination never disappoints. We’re pretty sure they will make good use of an old Swag. A doll’s sleeping bag or a little clutch to put pencils and knick-knacks in. Hand it to them and see what magic they can create!
